San Nicolás, Argentina

Located in the northeast corner of the province of Buenos Aires, the city of San Nicolás sits on the banks of the Paraná River and has a diverse landscape of canyons, swamps and islands. With a population of about 150,000, it is the fourth largest city in the province. Religious tourism, metallurgical industry and port services are the main industries. The transshipment volume of goods exceeds six million tons a year. Most of Argentina’s imported fertilizers are transported through the port of San Nicolás.
