Located on the banks of the Ihlava River in the southeastern Czech Republic, Jihlava is the capital of Vysokina Province and historically part of Bohemia and Moravia. It has an area of 78.85 square kilometers and a population of 53,000. Jihlava is a Czech railway hub and one of the national centers of the food industry, with industries such as vehicles, precision instruments, linen, wool textiles, tobacco and wood processing.
