Zhytomyr, Ukraine

Zhytomyr is located in northwestern Ukraine, the capital of Zhytomyr Oblast, 140 kilometers from the capital Kiev. With a population of about 270,000 and an area of about 61 square kilometers, it is a hub for road and rail transport in Ukraine. The city of Zhytomyr is rich in natural resources, with titanium ore and quartzite reserves accounting for 80% of the entire amount of Ukraine. It ranks the first in terms of wood reserves across Ukraine, and wood processing and mining industry is well developed.
