Marseille is the capital of the Puaran region and the Rhône estuary department in France, located on the northern shore of the Mediterranean. It has an area of 240.62 square kilometers and a population of about 860,000. The city of Marseille is the second largest city in France, an important industrial center and tourist city, and the administrative, economic, cultural and transportation center  in southern France. The Port of Marseille is the largest port on the Mediterranean coast and the fourth largest in Europe.
