Suwon City, the capital of Gyeonggi-do Province, is an important central city in the Seoul Metropolitan Area, covering about 121 square kilometers with a population of approximately 1.2 million. It has a strong economy, advanced science and technology, and abundant educational resources. Suwon is home to the global headquarters of Samsung Electronics and serves as one of South Korea’s core bases for the semiconductor and high-tech industries. The city’s fortress, Hwaseong, has been designated a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
