Fergana, Uzbekistan

Fergana is located in the eastern part of Uzbekistan and the southern part of the Fergana Basin. It is the capital of the Fergana region. It has a total area of 95.6 square kilometers and a population of about 288,000, mainly Uzbeks and Russians. Cotton spinning, silk weaving, oil and fat, chemical industry, petroleum, metal processing and building materials industry are its pillar industries.
