Hoa Lu is the capital of Ninh Binh Province, just over 100 kilometers from the capital Hanoi. Industries include pharmaceuticals, electrical machinery, power generation, sugar production, rice milling, and wood processing. The suburbs are rich in rice and corn, and are a distribution center for agricultural products. The picturesque landscape is a place of interest and monuments, such as the Pha Yan Stone Temple, which reflects the traditional characteristics of Vietnamese architecture.
