Soroca is located on the right bank of the Nistria River in northeastern Moldova. Across the river is the Ukrainian city of Janpol. It is about 160 kilometers from the capital Chisinau, with a population of about 35,000 and an area of about 13 square kilometers, known as one of the most beautiful cities in Moldova. The main industries in Soroka are garment processing, dairy products, food processing and industrial metal processing.
