Izmir, Turkey

Izmir is the third largest city in Türkiye and the hometown of Homer, the great ancient Greek poet, with an area of 919 square kilometers and a population of about three million. It is one of Türkiye’s most important industrial, commercial, trade and shipping centers. It’s also the second largest city after Istanbul in agricultural and industrial production value. Moreover, as a tourist destination and a military fortress, it’s rich in history and culture.
