Marrakech, located in southwest Morocco, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains that runs through Morocco, is known as the "pearl of the south". It covers an area of 230 square kilometers and has a population of about 1.06 million. Marrakech is a Berber word meaning "the homeland of God". Marrakech has the largest Berber market in Morocco and it is famous for leather industry.
