Located on the bank of the Ihlava River in the southeastern Czech Republic, Jihlava is the capital of Vysokina Province. It has an area of 78.85 square kilometers and a population of 53,000. Jihlava is a Czech railway hub and one of the national centers of the food industry, with industries such as vehicles, precision instruments, linen, wool textiles, tobacco and wood processing.
