Izhevsk, Russia

Izhevsk is the capital of the Udmurt Republic of the Russian Federation and the economic, cultural and educational center of the Volga River basin and Ural area. It has an area of 315 km2 and a population of about 620,000. Known as the producer of high-quality military and mechanical products, it is home to one of Russia’s most famous rifle production sites, thus winning itself the title “cradle of the AK-47”.
