Swansea is a coastal city in southwest Wales. It is the second largest city after Cardiff, the capital of Wales. It is known as the retail, leisure, educational and administrative center for South West Wales. The city covers an area of 380 km2 and has a population of about 240,000. Swansea was the center of the copper-smelting industry, earning the title “Copperopolis” during the Industrial Revolution.
