The ‘L'Amitié franco-chinoise Village Copain du Monde’ kicks off in Wuhan

The “L'Amitié franco-chinoise Village Copain du Monde” was successfully held in Wuhan from July 19th to 29th. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, as well as the China-French Year of Culture and Tourism. With the support of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, 40 teenagers from both countries participated in the event, marking the first time this project has been held in China which is co-hosted by Hubei Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Secours Populaire Français, and co-organized by Wuhan People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and other organizations.

19 French and 21 Chinese children participated in the 11-day event, during which they experienced traditional Chinese culture, such as Tai Chi, calligraphy, guzheng (an ancient musical instrument), dragon dance, seal carving, tea art, tie-dye and Chinese paper cutting. They also got to see Wuhan’s stunning scenery and technological advancements by visiting places like the Wuhan Science and Technology Museum and the East Lake Greenway. Such activities provide teenagers from both countries an opportunity to engage in face-to-face communications, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship.
