Kosiceis the second largest city in Slovakia and the administrative center of the Kosice Region, located on the eastern part of the river Khornad, close to the Hungarian border. It has an area of about 243 square kilometers and a population of about 239,000. Its main industries include metallurgy, machinery manufacturing and chemicals.
