Burlingame occupies an area of 15.686 square kilometers. Its close proximity to San Francisco International Airport generated huge growth in aviation services companies. The Virgin America headquarters are located in Burlingame, and China Airlines also has a branch there. The city is also home to the famous biopharmaceutical company Genentech and other companies. On 2014 June 23rd, 11 district heads from Wuhan signed the Memorandum of Friendly Cooperation with 11 mayors from cities in the Silicon Valley area of USA.
