Gavle is a harbor city in the mid-east of Sweden and the capital of Gavleborg County. It covers an area of 42 square kilometers, with about 70,000 inhabitants. The Port of Gavle is one of the top 10 Swedish ports. Major industries in the city include forestry, food, electrochemical, steel and furniture manufacturing. Gavle is also the seat of Future Position X (FPX), Sweden’s leading cluster for Spatial Information Technology.
