Christchurch, New Zealand

Christchurch is located in the Canterbury Plain in the east of the South Island of New Zealand. The city covers an area of 1,426 km2 with a population of 405,000. With well-developed agricultural, forestry and livestock industries, it is a commercial and industrial center, a distribution center for agricultural produce and a cluster for woollen, leather-making and clothing industries in the South Island. Christchurch is also known as a Garden City for its colorful blooms and lush foliage.
